Committee members are appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council and are responsible to the Minister of Children and Youth Services.

The Committee may include up to 12 members. All members are active in their communities and collectively, have a range of education, skills and experience. Committee members are not paid for their work, but receive honoraria and reimbursement for their expenses.
