Board Membership
The Child and Family Services Authority Act requires the Minister to establish a board to govern the business and affairs of the Child and Family Services Authorities. Each board is comprised of two Co-Chairs, one Aboriginal and one non-Aboriginal (except for Region 10, where both Co-Chairs are Aboriginal). The size of the boards varies, depending on factors such as the size of the region.
Board members provide strong leadership and work closely with communities in the region. The boards are responsible to their communities for providing services to meet the needs of children, youth and families. They are accountable, however, to the Minister of Children and Youth Services.
