Information about the 2010-2011 Making Space for Chiilden: Child Care Space Creation Innovation Fund is availabe at: http://www.child.alberta.ca/home/587.cfm.

To promote the creation of new child care spaces, the Making Space for Children: Child Care Space Creation Innovation Fund provides a grant of up to $1,500 per new child care space ($2,000 in Fort McMurray and area).

Alberta Children and Youth Services is pleased with the tremendous response to the Making Space for Children: Space Creation Innovation Fund. Since May 2008, 132 Alberta communities have received funding to create new spaces, making it easier for families to access quality child care.

As a result, effective January 5, 2010, all space creation grant funding has been committed and the ministry will no longer accept new applications. Applications submitted prior to this date will be assessed and applicants will be notified.  Details about space creation funding for the 2010-2011 fiscal year will be announced when available.
