Mentoring Grants

Grants in this category will provide positive mentoring opportunities for youth in Alberta.  The mentoring projects/programs will enhance access to mentoring opportunities.

Mentoring is defined as the presence of caring individual/individuals who provide a young person with support, advice, friendship, reinforcement and constructive role modeling over time.

Grant funds may be used to:

• develop mentoring programs which target all Alberta youth aged 13 - 22 including, but not limited to, youth from or in care, minorities and Aboriginal youth;
• recruit mentors;
• train mentors; or
• create strategies to increase the number of available mentors for youth.
