Sexual Assault Centres
Nine sexual assault centres across Alberta, along with their provincial association, have been provided with $1.6 million in government funding to support services for victims of sexual violence.
Sexual assault centres provide a safe place for healing to begin for those who have been victimized, both young and old. Services include: crisis intervention counselling (individual and group), education and awareness programs aimed at prevention, and advocacy and support for survivors as they deal with this serious crime.
For more information on sexual assault centres and the services they provide, visit the Association of Alberta Sexual Assault Services website.
The Family Violence Info Line 310-1818 helps Albertans reach out to individuals and families affected by family violence. Help is available anytime, toll-free provincewide, in more than 170 languages.
