Family Violence Prevention Month events
Preventing family violence and bullying is a priority of the Government of Alberta. At the local level, each Child and Family Services Authority (CFSA) is playing a leadership role through the work of Regional Family Violence and Bullying Coordinators. These coordinators work closely with community agencies and each other to enhance family violence and bullying prevention programs across the province.
The role of the Regional Family Violence and Bullying Coordinator is:
- To provide leadership in each CFSA for prevention of family violence and bullying initiatives that supports both the regional needs and provincial priorities based on the Alberta Roundtable on Family Violence and Bullying, the Cross-Ministry Prevention of Family Violence and Bullying Initiative and CFSA Regional business plans.
- To support coordination and communication between the ten CFSAs and the Prevention of Family Violence and Bullying Division of the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
