Day of Rememberance
December 6 is the the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
This day is dedicated to the memory of the 14 women killed 20 years ago at L'École Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1989. It is also a time to raise awareness that violence against women continues to exist in communities throughout Canada.
YWCA Rose Button Campaign
The Rose campaign is a national advocacy campaign to end violence against women and girls. The Campaign was created almost 20 years ago to commemorate the 14 young women who were killed at l'Ecole Polytechnique, by calling for a national action plan on violence against women and promoting strategies to stop violence in communities.
