Alberta’s youth are taking action against family violence and bullying by creating “art of peace,” a new youth engagement initiative launched by the Government of Alberta on November 5th, 2007 as part of Family Violence Prevention Month.
The Art of Peace Challenge invites youth between the ages of 14 and 20 to create and submit artistic works that motivate Albertans to reach out and help those impacted by family violence or bullying. Participating youth can share their perspective through dance, film/video, music, printed word, theatre, visual art or a multidisciplinary approach.
Finalists and their artistic works will be recognized at an event in November 2008 where they will receive awards and showcase opportunities.
