Special Case Reviews
In rare circumstances, children and youth in care are involved in incidents that result in serious injury or death. Alberta Children and Youth Services examines its processes and practices in such cases to determine whether they need to change or be strengthened. The department works in partnership with Child and Family Services Authorities, Delegated First Nation Agencies and department program staff to implement recommendations that may result from the review.
Special case reviews are part of the work this department does to continually improve services for children, youth and families.
